The October edition of the Families Outside ‘Bulletin’ newsletter which covers the work of the organisation over the last quarter is now available.
Again, it has been another busy quarter with attendance at the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child “Day of General Discussion” in Geneva the headline story. Families Outside attended this event with three other Scottish delegations and took full advantage to feed into the day’s discussions. New publications are also available from Families Outside including In Brief 6 and two new factsheets for professionals. Perth Prison Visitors’ Centre featured in this addition with high praise for the work carried out there expressed by HM Chief Inspector of Prisons in Scotland. Mary Fee MSP and Families Outside also announce the setting up of a Cross Party Group on Families Affected by Imprisonment and on 8 November there will be a special charity screening of the film, Winter’s Bone. Finally, we are delighted to report that interest in our upcoming conference has been excellent, surpassing expectations. The conference at The Falkirk Wheel on 1 November is now fully booked.
If you have any comments or suggestions for the Bulletin we would be delighted to hear from you.
