Kids VIP’s Improving Contact between Children and their Imprisoned Parents course has been awarded Skillsmark® endorsement – the rigorous quality assurance process that evaluates the design, content and delivery of learning programmes in line with employer needs.
In April, Kids VIP merged with the Prison Advice & Care Trust (pact) to deliver their training in England and Wales. As part of this merger, Families Outside will be delivering all Kids VIP training under license in Scotland.
The overall aim of the Improving Contact between Children and their Imprisoned Parents programme is to ensure that all prison and probation staff and play and visitor centre volunteers understand the impact of parental imprisonment on children and their families.
Although the Skillsmark® framework has been developed to quality assure programmes developed for the Justice, Community Safety and Legal Services sectors, it can be used to quality assure learning programmes in any sector by any provider, including in-house provision.
