Practice Learning

At Families Outside we work hard to ensure our service is always delivering to the needs of the families that use it. We know that learning from one another and sharing how practice can be developed is key for both professional development and for a service that responds to the needs of service users.

As a learning organisation Families Outside offers practice learning opportunities for social work students.  We work with Scottish Universities to provide excellent placements. During placements students have the opportunity to develop the skills and confidence to engage in assessment and longer term work with the families who we support. Placements can be a blend of helpline and family support work, or group and family support work.

Families Outside provides a very supportive environment to students with regular, high quality supervision.
