Group Work & Peer Support
Families Outside Group Work and Peer Support service encourages families to come together and learn from one another’s lived experiences.
The Group Work & Peer Support team working with family members have created a variety of local and national group work sessions delivered virtually via zoom, or in-person (where possible) to support children, young people and adults affected by a family members imprisonment. Groups and activities near you, check out the activities listed below.
We also publish Activity Packs with lots of fun activities that children and families can do together at home with their families or during a virtual visit or in-person visit with their family member.

Group Work & Peer Support Activities
Families Outside invite you to join us for our Connections to Nature Peer Support Sessions. These sessions will be delivered on Zoom by our Group Work Peer Support team and will include activities such as making an elder bracelet, making bath salts and growing tea to enjoy with the group.
Every year in Scotland it is estimated that more than 20,000 children and young people are affected by parental imprisonment, this figure does not include those with another family member in prison.
Our peer support group has given children, young people and families the opportunity to come together and support each other. Come and join us for a chat and fun activities with friends.
Families Outside invites you to come together with other family members to help us shape our Group Work and Peer Support in your area. Come and join one of our sessions. Contact for more information.
