Visiting the Prison

Inverness Bus Station, Farraline Park, Inverness (0.7 miles)
Limited payment by meter parking is available for visitors at the Argyle Street car park and the surrounding streets.
Visitor Centre Information
The Visitors’ Centre at HMP Inverness is operated by Action for Children who are offering support Monday – Friday 9.00am – 3.00pm by email and telephone and by text to the number and email address below. Welfare packs are offered to families that are affected by CV19.

The Visitors’ Centre is located at Rail House by Inverness mainline train station. Staff are also available at the prison in the visits room and visits waiting area.
In normal circumstances the centre provides:
- Hot drinks
- Light refreshments
- Toilets and baby changing facilities
- Children’s play area
- Information, support, and advice
- Virtual visits to other prisons in Scotland
